Desired Experience/Knowledge/Interest:

Commercial Innovation Responsibilities:

  • Research and document data on Idaho's core competency technology areas, which include Imaging, Power and Energy, Ag/Biosciences and Nanotechnology
  • Collect data from statewide companies and organizations by conducting initial and follow-up interviews
  • Assist in developing and implementing measures/indicators to chart progress
  • Assist in producing information and marketing publications touting technology in Idaho
  • Identify and highlight Idaho's technology success stories
  • Federal grant performance data entry and maintenance
  • CRM maintenance and data cleansing
  • Marketing materials design and content development
  • Website content development
  • Light website design

Economic & Rural/Community Development Responsibilities:

  • Assist with research for community and economic development programs
  • Research and develop a foreign direct investment study
  • Assist in the collection and analysis of growth related challenges in Idaho and solutions that work in Idaho and other states
  • Assist in the development of community leadership curriculum
  • Collect and organize community development best practices data that can be shared statewide
  • Market the Rural Community Peer to Peer Grant Program and assist in administering small grants

International Business Development Responsibilities:

The International Division has two internships.  Please select one of the available opportunities below to get more information.

IT Responsibilities:

  • Website Development
  • Troubleshooting help desk tickets
  • Web content management
  • Physical and data migration

Marketing, Communications & Research Responsibilities:

  • Assist in writing letters, press releases and stories related to various subjects
  • Assist in conducting updates to division database records such as chamber of commerce contacts, attractions information, etc.
  • Assist in preparation of conference events
  • Website content development
  • Website design

Tourism Development Responsibilities:

  • Assist in writing letters, press releases and stories related to various tourism subjects
  • Assist in conducting updates to division database records such as chamber of commerce contacts, attractions information, etc
  • Assist in preparation of conference events
  • Catalogue photographic files for film & tourism industry marketing

  • Resumé of work, volunteer, extracurricular or other experience
  • Cover letter explaining which division you are interested in and your reason for wanting to participate in the program
  • Two letters of recommendation (if submitting by e-mail, please have author of letter e-mail directly or submit a signed copy)

    You may apply for more than one division.

    Gain experience by working with a variety of companies in many different industries in a non-paid internship.
